KARACHI – Karachi students have clinched all three top position in recently held MDCAT 2025 exam conducted by the IBA Sukkur University.
According to the preliminary results, Karachi students outperformed their peers from other districts in Sindh, with 41 of the 124 candidates in the top ten hailing from the city.
MDCAT Results and Success Rates
In the initial results for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT), a large proportion of students from Sindh’s educational boards failed to clear the test. Despite their high grades, 56% of MBBS candidates and 48% of BDS candidates failed to pass the exam.
Out of the 14,300 MBBS candidates, only 55% (99 candidates) managed to score 55% or higher, while in the BDS category, 17,123 candidates participated, and only 50% (90 candidates) passed the test with a score of 50% or more.
Top Performers
Among the top achievers, Syed Mahmood Khan from Karachi’s West District scored the highest, earning 175 out of 180 marks.
He was followed by Faizal Ashraf Khan from Korangi, Karachi, and Shiraz Hussain from Qamber Shahdadkot, both securing 174 marks, placing them in second position.
The third position was shared by Muhammad Rayan Humayun from Karachi East, Mahnur Shah Nawaz from Korangi, and Hira Abid from Hyderabad, who all scored 173 marks.

The final results for MDCAT 2025 are expected to be released on November 5th, after the resolution of any complaints filed by candidates. According to IBA Sukkur University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Asif Sheikh, candidates have until 5:00 PM on November 1st to submit any complaints via email, after which the final results will be announced.
