Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said we have been used for making government in past and now efforts were on to use us for breaking the government. Considering the past experiences, we would like to see first that something has been done, as political statement was not enough for this and that is why we have not rejected the offer of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. We are ready for cooperation in the larger interest of the province; however, they have to remove our apprehensions first.
Any decisions for local government powers and distribution of resources should be made justified, only after then our party would see what to do. He expressed these views while speaking in a program held in Korangi on the occasion of handing over of donation of Rs9.4million worth school furniture by an NGO Duokon to eight schools of Korangi Zone on Thursday. The organization was working since 1998 in the field of children welfare, women empowerment and raise of standard of youth education in Pakistan.
The donations include the teacher’s chairs, table, book shelf, laboratory shelf, three types of student’s desk and other items. CEO Nisar Ahmed Nizamani and coordinator Nasreen Memon gave the details of this. Mayor Karachi said that the people of Sindh were presently looking at the two parties in government. The agreement with the PTI should be implemented which was aimed at progress in Sindh. MQM will make the decision according to the interest of the people.
He thanked Duokon for donating the furniture for schools in Korangi. Mayor Karachi asked the industrialist of Korangi zone to adopt the schools so these could be made better. President of Korangi association of trade and industry Junaid Taqi said education should be focused more. Duokon was working well in this sector. Chairman of dmc Korangi Syed Nayyer Raza said that we have been making efforts since 2016 to provide furniture to schools but had not resources for this. Duokon also established two institutes which would help provide better education facilities to people of the area.
