Mayor rules out privatization of Water Corporation

Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, unequivocally affirmed that the privatization of the Water Corporation is not on the table, assuring the continued public ownership of this vital resource. These remarks were delivered during his address to the pressmen after he formally inaugurated a newly constructed road that now stretches from Fisherman Gate to Machhar Colony in the Keamari district.

Joining Mayor Karachi at this significant event were prominent figures, including Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, Mayor Karachi Spokesperson for Political Affairs Karamullah Waqasi, Chairman Maripur Town Humayun Khan, and several other influential local leaders.

In his address, Mayor Karachi underscored the critical importance of unity and collaboration among various stakeholders, ranging from the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) to Town Municipal Corporations and Union Councils (UCs). He candidly acknowledged the mixed landscape of diligence and obstacles within this framework. His commitment to honoring the trust reposed in the People’s Party leadership was unwavering, emphasizing their dedication to delivering non-discriminatory public service.Mayor Karachi also emphasized the People’s Party’s steadfast commitment to serving the diverse populace of Karachi, with high expectations for a pivotal role in the impending elections in Sindh.

The central focus remains on ongoing efforts to bolster Karachi’s infrastructure and ensure equitable development across all sectors. Additionally, he acknowledged the recent tribulations related to resolving electricity, water, land, and law enforcement concerns within the city.A salient concern raised by Mayor Karachi was the pressing need to tackle water theft by dismantling the entrenched mafia networks and implementing stringent preventive measures to discourage future illegal activities. He concluded by affirming that Karachi is experiencing a transformative phase, with unwavering dedication to the enhancement of the city’s infrastructure and unwavering commitment to the welfare of its residents.
