Labour Day is a moment to recognise the contribution of workers and renew our shared commitment to dignity, fairness and opportunity in the world of work. Across Pakistan, workers continue to drive progress and sustain communities. There are encouraging signs in the form of greater attention to workplace safety, growing awareness around labour standards, and a renewed focus on building more inclusive workplaces. These are important steps in the right direction. At the same time, the priority ahead is clear: translating progress into impact. This means safer working conditions, better opportunities for young people, and greater participation of women in the workforce. Looking forward, there is reason for optimism. Pakistan’s young and dynamic population represents a powerful opportunity to build a more inclusive and productive future of work. With continued collaboration between government, employers and workers, meaningful progress is within reach. The International Labour Organization remains committed to supporting this journey towards decent work and shared prosperity for all.
