PTI leaders and workers who went on a rampage following the arrest of former prime minister and their party Chairman Imran Khan on May 9 caused to the national exchequer the loss of over Rs20 million when they broke security cameras and traffic signals installed at Zaman Park, Sarwar Road, Main Boulevard and different other roads of Lahore.
According to a report compiled by the Safe City Lahore, the damage done to traffic signals caused the loss of Rs5.3 million, while that done to security cameras caused the loss of over Rs1 million.
Police officials have said that the protestors broke the cameras so that they could not be identified with the help of footages obtained from them.
They have further said that cases were registered against PTI workers at several police stations of Lahore on the complaint of Safe City Lahore.
