Opposition parliamentarians in the Upper House of parliament on Monday give tough time to government over massive price hike and remind PM Imran to his words in which he said that when prices of POL, electricity, gas, daily useable items on rise, then suppose that the government was corrupt.
When Imran Khan was in opposition he gave this message to the nation and today when he is the PM practically increased the prices of these items showed practical implementation.
JI Senator Mushtaq Ahamd told the Senate during a motion to discuss recent rise in POL prices causing inflation in Pakistan. The resolution was moved jointly by Senators Bahramand Khan Tangi and Mushtaq Ahmed.
Presenting several data, Mushtaq Ahmad said there were several mafia in Pakistan and they all were held responsible for price hike in the country.
There is 6.9 % unemployment in the whole country and 10 % unemployment in KP where PTI in power from last 8 yrs.
He claimed that there are massive price hike POL, power, gas, daily useable items and the people were making hue and cry. He regretted that the government totally failed to control such price hike nor it shown any seriousness to monitor it properly.
While PPP Senator Bahramand Khan Tangi claimed that all mafia were sitting with government. The government is interested only to target their political opponent and don’t bother to take any measures for people welfare.
Responding to opposition senators, minister for energy Hamad Azhar said that the government has provided Rs465 billion subsidy on POL prices so that the people may get some relief.
