LAHORE – The Punjab Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department has sought a substantial increase in the monthly tariff for water consumers in Lahore.
As per the media reports, the department has forwarded the summary to the Punjab government with the recommendation of raising the water tariff from the existing Rs375 to Rs718 per month for 3 to 5 marla houses.
Similarly, the water tariff for 5 to 7 marla houses has been recommended to increase from Rs 564 to Rs Rs 938 per month for 5 to 7 marla houses. It is proposed to charge Rs1,383 per month for 7 to 10 marla houses, Rs1,603 per month for 10 to 15 marla houses and Rs2,183 per month for 15 to 20 marla houses.
