Maryam to lead PML-N’s by-election campaign

Pakistan Muslim League-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz will lead the party’s campaign for by-elections on four, out of total 20, Punjab Assembly seats in Lahore from Saturday (July 2, 2022), it was learnt on Wednesday.

Sources said that in this connection Maryam would address public rallies on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

They further disclosed that the schedule of election campaign in the remaining 16 constituencies of Punjab was also being prepared.

These seats had fallen vacant after 20 Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf ‘defecting’ MPAs, who had switched their loyalties and voted for Hamza Shehbaz in the election for the Punjab CM on April 16, were de-seated in the light of Supreme Court’s interpretation of Article 63 of the constitution.
