A wedding event turned into a horror movie scene in Lahore when relatives of groom and bride lost their control and attacked with each other with knives. The bloody clash was reported at a walima reception in Factory Area on Sunday night where a heated argument led to stabbing each other, resulting in injuries to six people. The wounded were identified as 45-year-old Khalid, 25-year-old Ramzan, 24-year-old Shahbaz, Raza, Ali and Abid.
Police said relatives came to blows and later stabbed each other after exchanging hot words during the Walima. Police shifted the injured to General Hospital where one of the wounded was stated to be in serious condition.
SP CanttAwaisShafiq said that a case has been registered against Arsalan, Hadi, Farhan, Bilal and six unidentified people on the complaint of one Shahbaz.
The SP Cantt further said the accused have fled their homes but police were conducting raids to arrest them. Two men were shot dead while a woman was injured in connection with a land dispute in Shahdara area of Lahore on Monday. —APP
