Mandviwala highlights precautions at healthcare fundraiser

At the annual fundraising dinner hosted by SHINE Humanity, a prominent NGO committed to providing essential healthcare to underprivileged communities in Pakistan, significant figures such as Saleem Mandviwala and Zafar Mirza addressed key health concerns in the country. Saleem Mandviwala, a senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party and former Deputy Speaker of the Senate, emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing preventive measures alongside treatment.

He expressed concern over the inadequate attention given to preventive actions, leading to elevated illness rates compared to global standards. Former Federal Health Minister Zafar Mirza commended SHINE Humanity for its dedicated efforts in tackling healthcare challenges nationwide. He called upon both governmental and non-governmental entities to learn from SHINE’s initiatives, stressing the necessity of comprehensive measures to enhance Pakistan’s overall health situation.

Dr. Asghar Naqvi, a Board Member of SHINE Humanity, highlighted the organization’s unwavering commitment to serving marginalized communities in Sindh, where healthcare accessibility is limited. Dr. Naqvi emphasized SHINE’s extensive data collection and analysis efforts, which inform targeted interventions to address prevalent health issues. Sarwar Peshimam, President of Rotary Club Sunset Platinum, praised SHINE Humanity’s impactful contributions, recognizing the urgency of addressing Pakistan’s alarming health statistics through initiatives like SHINE’s.
