A man allegedly killed his sister after an altercation over the use of a cellphone, the police said on Sunday.
The police officials informed that the incident occurred in Liaquat Colony of Gujranwala district. They informed that both the siblings had an altercation over the use of a smartphone.
During the course of argument, the man in fit of rage killed his sister.
The police said the accused fled the scene and efforts underway to arrest him at the earliest.
The police shifted the dead body to hospital for medico-legal formalities and registered a first information report (FIR) against the accused.
On August 7, a man shot dead his wife over asking for a cellphone in Attock, Punjab. The incident took place in Attock’s area of Pindi Sultani, where a man opened fire over his wife and killed her on the spot when she asked him to hand her his cellphone.
After killing the wife, the man, whose identification was not revealed by the police, had also injured himself.
Meanwhile, four persons were injured in a firing incident here in Lahore Sunday morning. The firing incident occurred after an exchange of harsh words in the precincts of Tibbi City Police.
The accused, Umair and Bhoka, fled the scene while firing in the air. The injured were identified as Raza, Ikram, Imran and Hasnain. The police collected the evidence from the scene and were now conducting raids to arrest the culprits.
