A man alleged killed his 70-year-old mother over scolding him and attempting to refrain from a quarrel with his wife, the police said.
According to police officials, the accused, identified as Waseem, a resident of Mozang, was having an argument with his wife at their house. In the meanwhile, his mother intervened and scolded the couple over the quarrel.
She also admonished her son upon which her son got angry and attacked his mother with a cooking pan. She sustained a deadly blow and breathed her last on the spot.
Mozang Police SHO Asif Jabbar claimed that the murder weapon has been seized. The deceased woman’s husband registered a case against an unidentified person as the family is of the view that Waseem is not involved in the case.
The police, however, conducted a raid and arrested the suspect from near Bhatti Gate.
Meanwhile, the Lodhran Police have arrested a man on charges of raping a nine-year-old six days ago.
The police said that medical report of the child proved the rape. Father of the minor got registered the case angst the accused.
The police said that the suspect kidnapped the child from outside her house in Ghauspur, raped her repeatedly, and left her in a critical condition. The SHO said that the suspect has confessed to the crime.
