The Charge d Affaires of High Commission of Ma-laysia in Pakistan Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad on Tuesday has said that Malaysia and Pakistan had been enjoying very warm friendly relation since 1957 and ties between both the brotherly Islamic countries were not confined only to the diplomatic and commercial avenues but both had strong strate-gic and social ties also.

While addressing the local industrialists and export-ers at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Indus-try (SCCI) Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad also said that the volume of bilateral trade between Malaysia and Pakistan was improving during the last couple of years, from US $ 1.38 billion in 2020 to US $ 199 billion in 2021, which was a positive and healthy sign.

He hoped that Malaysia and Pakistan would enjoy further increase in the volume of bilateral trade in future but sincere and determined efforts were re-quired from both the sides in that regard.

The Ma-laysian envoy invited the local business community to come forward and invest in a number of vibrant and profitable projects in Malaysia and enjoy a highly business friendly environment.

Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad while terming Malaysia as a gateway to the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region and the other far-eastern na-tions, stressed upon the local industrialists and ex-porters to try and explore new markets in that region for a wide range of high-quality products manufac-tured by them. Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad said that Malaysia was among the fast-growing economies not only in the region but in the whole world with high incomes and her government always ensured that Malaysia was on the right side of the trajectory of progress.
