Ministry of Education, Malaysia approved the conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree to Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed HI(M) (Retd) upon the recommendation of the Senate of the Netherlands Maritime University College (NMUC), Malaysia.
This degree was formally awarded on 4 November 2025 during NMUC’s 9th Convocation Ceremony held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Being the first Pakistani to receive this honour, the admiral brings pride to our nation. This prestigious recognition celebrates his distinguished contributions to the maritime sector, i.e., maritime policy & strategy, blue economy, sustainable developments, global/regional maritime frameworks, etc.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Education, NMUC, representatives from international maritime and academic institutions.
Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed, President of the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA), is a prominent voice on National Security, the Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs.—PR
