Sindh police made a significant breakthrough by apprehending a top Lyari gang war figure, Ashfaq Ahmed, accused of heinous crimes including terrorism, extortion, and murder. SSP City Amjad Hayat announced the arrest, disclosed the recovery of hand grenades and weapons from the suspect’s possession.
Investigations reveal Ashfaq’s involvement in an organized extortion ring operating in Karachi, with his confession implicated him in multiple violent incidents. In a video statement, Ashfaq has admited to grenade attacks and shootings orchestrated for extortion purposes, shedding light on the gang’s hierarchical structure involving key figures like Faisal Mulla, Wasiullah Lakhu, and Ayaz Zehri.
