LWMC’s zero waste campaign continues, 65868 tons of waste lifted

Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is working day and night to provide exceptional cleanliness facilities to the citizens of Lahore.

In this regard, along with waste collection, service delivery camps have also been installed for swift redressal of complaints.

During the zero waste operation the department has lifted 65868 tons of waste from Gulberg Town, Nishtar Town, Samanabad Town and Shalimar Town.

In the last two weeks, LWMC has lifted 3779 tons of waste from Gulberg Town, 11036 tons from Allama Iqbal Town, 6630 tons from Nishtar Town and 5405 tons from Samanabad Town. Rafia Haider, CEO LWMC, said that LWMC is working round the clock in all towns of the city.

Along with Zero Waste Operations, Service Delivery Camp and Enforcement Wing have also been activated.4 Service Delivery Camps have been set up on the spot for redressal of public complaints with excellent results.

LWMC Enforcement Wing inspected 2225 places and registered 3 cases of illegal dumping while 631 challans, fines of Rs. 1395833 and 991 warning letters have also been issued over illegal dumping. She added that people can contact the service delivery camp for swift resolution of complaints about cleanliness in their area.

The staff and vehicles are available 24 hours and will immediately respond to the complaint.

Citizens are requested to put their garbage in the dustbin instead of throwing it on the roads and not to violate the Local Government Act so that they can be protected from the action of the enforcement wing.
