LWMC: Rs15b annual budget approved for year 2022-23

The 128th meeting of the Board of Directors of Lahore Waste Management Company held at 90 Shahrah e Quaid e Azam. According to the spokesperson of LWMC, meeting of the board of directors has been held under the chairmanship of Khawaja Ahmad Hasan, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab and Chairman Lahore Waste Management Company, in which board members Maher Ishtiaq Ahmed, Majid Zahoor, Aamir Zafar Khan participated while Karamatullah Chaudhry and Chief Executive Officer LWMC Rafia Haider participated in the meeting through video link.

Minutes of the meeting of 127th BOD were approved and other important issues of Lahore Waste Management Company were also discussed. Adviser to the Chief Minister of Punjab and Chairman LWMC Khawaja Ahmad Hassan paid tribute to the employees of the company for their excellent cleaning arrangements on Eid-ul-Adha 2022. According to the announcement of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, the approval has given to pay one month’s basic salary to the employees while the budget of 2022-23 has also been approved in the meeting. 15 billion will be spent for cleaning the city next year, last year Lahore Waste Management Company got approval for a budget of 14 billion.

Chairman LWMC Khawaja Ahmed Hassan further says that the increase in the basic salary of the sanitory workers and the increase in the price of petrol are the reasons for the increase in the budget. In view of the current inflation and the increase in the price of petrol, the institution will be able to receive additional grants of up to 5 billion on if and when required basis.
