On the directions of Punjab chief minister, Lahore Waste Management Company continued its cleanliness operation regarding sanitation week the second day.
On the directions of LWMC chairman and managing director, the department made special cleanliness services around all public and private hospitals followed by all mosques and churches of the city.
During the first day of sanitation week the department successfully lifted more than 4682 tons of solid waste from the city. The MD said that Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is doing its best efforts for the transformation of Lahore as one of the cleanest cities in the world by providing state of the art services to ensure sustainable, safe, clean and green environment.
Special cleanliness arrangements were made outside Jinnah Hospital, Services Hospital, General Hospital, Ganga Ram Hospital, Shalimar Hospital, Mian Mir Hospital followed by others as well. He said that the department is working according to the plan formulated regarding sanitation week to provide exceptional cleanliness services to every nook and corner of the city.
He said that workers are the asset of this organization as they are always determined and working despite any conditions and circumstances, meanwhile department has ensured that workers put on masks and gloves in wake of Covid 19. He said it is pertinent to mention that organization is working on war footings during Covid-19 by providing exemplary cleanliness services, washing of main roads, hospital premises, and foot paths with disinfectants on daily basis.
The department has also increased the mechanical washing and sweeping activity in the city. He stated that this sanitation week will be one of its kinds as the department and its contractors are performing to their best with all engaging all of their machinery and human resource in the field.
