Demand for electricity has increased significantly in Lahore city with a rise in temperature.According to National Power Construction Corporation (NPCC), demand for electricity by LESCO has increased by 100MW to 3,600MW.
Currently, the NPCC is supplying 3,500MW electricity to LESCO.It is to be noted here that more electricity is being consumed by the commercial and domestic users with the start of summer.
Demand for electricity is expected to reach 4,000MW in next few days.
If demand for electricity reaches 4,000MW, load shedding will be started in areas with line losses.
The load shedding will be carried out as per the schedule with the approval of the Ministry of Power Division.
