Library inaugurated at WUM’s Urdu Department


A new library has been set up in the Department of Urdu Women University Multan. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Uzma Quraishi along with Chairperson of Dr. Shahida Rasool inaugurated the library at Katchery Campus.

Addressing the ceremony Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Uzma Quraishi said that the library is the identity of any university. Fortunately, a separate library has been set up in the department.

She said that the need for promotion and evolution of the national language has not been as great as it was in past. But now Women University will be at the forefront to highlight the significance of national language and its features.

She added that every possible cooperation will be made to further improve this library at Urdu department.

Chairperson of Urdu department Dr. Shahida Rasool shed light on the history of the department and informed about the services of the graduating teachers.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Shagufta Hussain, Prof. Dr. Asmat Jameel, Prof. Dr. Anwar Ahmed, and Prof. Dr. Rubina Tareen, Prof. Nighat Iftikhar, Mrs. Zubaida Awan, Mrs. Ghazala Khawar, Dr. Azra Liaqat, Sara Majeed and students.
