The Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Wednesday while suspending the contempt notices issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to former prime minister Imran Khan and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry formed a three-member larger bench to hear the case. The three members bench comprised on Justice Jawad Hassan, Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf.

The new bench will now hear the case on September 29, 2022. Senior judge of the LHC Justice Jawadul Hassan heard the petitions filed by Imran and Fawad through their counsels Babar Awan and Faisal Chaudhry against the notices issued to them in which both of them had contended that the election commission was not authorized to initiate contempt of court proceedings.
