Lahore High Court has stopped the Punjab government from transferring Director General LDA Aamir Ahmed Khan. Justice Lahore High Court Shahid Karim has issued orders to the Chief Secretary Punjab not to change DG LDA.

The High Court said that DG LDA should ensure the appointment of an environmental consultant to frame the rules and regulations on major highways of the city to deal with environmental pollution. He added that frequent transfer posting influenced the courts orders and its implementation also gets affected.

LDA’s lawyer Sahibzada Muzaffar Ali said that according to the instructions of the High Court, LDA is taking vigorous steps to make the main highways of the city into model roads and a vigorous campaign is being conducted on electronic media, major national newspapers and social media. A complete report in this regard will be submitted to the honorable court on the next hearing.

Sahibzada Muzaffar Ali said that various departments have been working together on it, including TEPA, LDA and other departments. The next hearing of the case related to environmental pollution in city will be held on February 3 in the Lahore High Court.
