LAHORE — The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has fixed the new price of AMI single-phase smart meters as an official order has been issued in this regard.
LESCO’s Material Management Department has officially communicated the development to the Director of Customer Services, the price has been finalized prior to issuing the purchase order.
The circular further states that cable charges will be collected as per the rates outlined by the Regional Store Manager’s office.

According to reports, LESCO has set price at Rs14,786, excluding General Sales Tax (GST), which will be applied additionally.

With the revised pricing, an increase in the total cost reflected in demand notices for single-phase smart meters is also anticipated.
Reports said the consumers are likely to pay around Rs20,000 in total for a single-phase smart meter once all associated charges and taxes are included.
At present, LESCO has outsourced the procurement process for these smart meters.
LESCO is one of Pakistan’s major power distribution companies, operating under the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).
It is responsible for supplying electricity to Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, and Nankana Sahib districts.
