ISLAMABAD – Legendary Pakistani folk singer Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi has revealed that he has already prepared his own grave, saying the decision reflects his acceptance of life’s inevitable end.
The veteran singer made the remarks during a recent interview, where he spoke candidly about his life, faith, and thoughts on mortality.
Responding to a question about the afterlife, Attaullah Khan said he had arranged his burial place in his hometown of Isa Khel. He explained that his grave has already been prepared and is located near, but separate from, his family’s ancestral graveyard.
According to the singer, the site he selected has space for two or three graves. He said he deliberately chose a location a short distance away from the family cemetery.
Reflecting on the passage of time and the loss of loved ones, Attaullah Khan said many of his close friends have passed away over the years. He also recalled the deaths of his parents and one of his sisters, adding that every person must eventually face death.
The celebrated artist said preparing his grave serves as a reminder of the temporary nature of worldly life and the importance of remaining mindful of the hereafter.
