Lcci Terminates Membership Of Former President Abuzar Shad

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Executive Committee has terminated the basic membership of former President Mian Abuzar Shad for his “conduct derogatory to the Chamber.”

The decision was taken yesterday after evaluating his reply to the Show Cause notice. The Executive Committee found that the reply of Mr Shad was far beyond the facts.

The LCCI Executive Committee maintained that discipline, decorum, and respect for institutional hierarchy are fundamental to the functioning of the Chamber. Any behaviour that disrupts the professional environment, particularly within the office of the President, cannot be tolerated, regardless of an individual’s past position or status.

After prolonged discussions, the Executive Committee decided to remove his basic membership with immediate effect to uphold the dignity and credibility of the institution.

The Executive Committee emphasised that the Chamber remains committed to transparent governance, the rule of law, and equal accountability for all members. “No individual is above the institution.”

The decision reflects LCCI’s zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct and reinforces its commitment to maintaining a professional and respectful environment for members, and visiting delegations, including foreign guests.
