Lahore rally will be held at all costs: PDM leaders

The Opposition’s leaders on Wednesday announced that the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) Lahore rally will take place on December 13 at all costs. They said that in case the authorities and protestors lock horns, all responsibility will fall on the government.
This was stated by the PDM leaders while addressing a press conference in Lahore. PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah speaking to te media said that the rally would be held at Minar-e-Pakistan at all costs. If there are any obstructions resulting in a clash, the government will be responsible, he added.
JUI leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said that the united opposition has a singular narrative. The government should be wary of the fact that if it tries to escalate things, we will be armed as well. PPP’s Chaudhry Manzoor said that the government has backtracked on all its promises, our arrested members must be released.
The leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement also strongly condemned the dismissal of 4,544 employees of the Pakistan Steel Mills.
Meanwhile, the local administration in Lahore on Wednesday refused to allow opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement to hold public gathering at the Greater Iqbal Park on December 13. The PDM leadership has submitted a formal application seeking no objection certificate for the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore.
