LAHORE – Lahore Qalandars thrashed Islamabad United by 95 runs in the Eliminator 2 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Friday to storm into the PSL X final.
Chasing a challenging 203-run target for victory, United kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 107 in 15.1 overs.
Salman Agha was the highest scorer with 33 runs, followed by skipper Shadab Khan, who contributed 26. No other batter could enter the double figures. Player of the match Salman Mirza, skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi and Rishad Hossain bagged three wickets each while Naseem Shah was run out.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Qalandars reached 202/8 in the allocated 20 overs despite losing the key wicket of Fakhar Zaman (12) early.
Kusal Perera was the top scorer for Qalandars with 61 runs, followed by Mohammad Naeem, who made 50. Abdullah Shafique contributed 25 runs, Bhanuka Rajapaksa 22 and Asif Ali 15 runs. Tymal Mills bagged three wickets, Salman Irshad two, Imad Wasim and James Neesham one each, while Rishad Hossain was run out.
