LAHORE – Rain-wind/thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms are predicted in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Friday night and Saturday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), westerly wave prevails over upper and central parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist during the next 2-3 days.
Under the influence of these conditions, scattered rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms are expected in Taunsa, Layyah, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Gujranwala on Friday night. Rains are also expected at isolated places in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Khushab, Nupur Thal, Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur.
On Saturday, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Khushab, Noorpur Thal, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Layyah, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur. Isolated heavy falls/hailstorms are also expected during the period.
Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 38-40°C on Saturday and 35-38°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 27 per cent.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 36 per cent.
