LAHORE – Cold and cloudy weather with more rain is expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday night.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave also prevails over Kashmir and adjoining areas.
Under these conditions, cold and cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province and extremely cold in upper parts on Monday night. Very cold/cloudy weather with light rain/light snowfall in expected at few places in Murree, Galiyat and surroundings. Partly cloudy weather with light rain/drizzle is likely in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and surroundings.
On Tuesday, cold weather is expected in most districts of the province, while very cold/cloudy weather with light rain/light snowfall at few places in Murree, Galiyat and surroundings. Fog/smog (in patches) is likely at isolated places in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Mangla, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Okara, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and surroundings during morning/night hours.
Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 07-09°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in and most parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Rain occurred in Lahore, Murree, Galiyat, and parts of the province.
Murree remained the coldest place in Punjab where the temperature dropped 02°C below the freezing point. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 92 percent.
In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 08°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 68 percent.
