Lahore, Punjab weather: Rains, windstorms predicted from June 20

LAHORE – Rains and windstorms are predicted in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Friday and the next two days with occasional gaps.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea penetrate the upper and central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will likely approach the upper parts on 20th June

Under these conditions, hot and dry weather is predicted in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Thursday night.

On Friday and the next two days, rains and windstorms are predicted in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh with occasional gaps.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35°C and 37°C on Friday and between 36°C and 38°C on Saturday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of Punjab while very hot in plain areas during the last 24 hours. However, 01mm rain occurred in Narowal.

Bahawalpur and Attock remained the hottest places in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. The maximum temperature in Dera Ghazi Khan was recorded at 44°C.

In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 47 per cent.
