Lahore police claimed on Saturday to have registered 1430 cases in one week and have arrested 1495 professionals beggars.

This is the highest number ever arrested in Lahore police history, said a DIG rank officer. In the second phase from tomorrow onward, we will be arresting their handlers, contractors, and all those who are coming as their “ Zamin” in courts as they are indirectly their supporters.

Public cooperation is also requested, citizens must call at 15 in case they see these professionals beggars anywhere, Lahore police will respond and will finish this menace from Lahore with public and media support, said a senior police officer.
