Lahore presented a festive look ahead of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, with major roads, buildings, intersections and public spaces illuminated in green and white lights and decorated with national flags and buntings.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its preparations for the August 14 celebrations on the directives of Director General Tahir Farooq, giving prominent locations across the city a vibrant Independence Day look.
The Thokar entry point, Lahore Railway Station parking area and surrounding locations have been adorned with green-and-white lights and national flags.
The LDA headquarters in Johar Town, LDA Avenue One, other LDA offices, Mahmood Kasuri Road, Zahoor Elahi Roundabout, Adda Plot and LDA City have also been decorated for the occasion.
The authority has further illuminated its parking plazas and other important points with colourful lights and displayed national flags as part of the celebrations.
Meanwhile, DG LDA Tahir Farooq has directed the Town Planning Wing and Chief Metropolitan Planning (CMP) Wing to facilitate the decoration of private housing schemes and commercial properties across the city to mark Independence Day.
