Lahore Experiences Coldest Day Of Winter As Mercury Drops To 05c

Blanketed by fog, Lahore experienced the coldest day of the winter season, as the temperature dropped to 05°C on Friday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these weather conditions, cold and dry weather will continue to prevail in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Friday evening and night, as well as during the weekend. Partly cloudy weather is predicted in the northern districts. Freezing weather conditions will continue to persist in Murree, Galiyat and the upper districts.

Moderate to dense fog will likely prevail in Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan during the period.

Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 03°C and 05°C on Saturday and between 04°C and 06°C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Moderate to dense fog/smog prevailed in Lahore and the plains of the province. Freezing weather prevailed in Murree and Galiyat.

Murree remained the coldest place in Punjab, where the temperature dropped 01°C below the freezing point (-01°C). Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 49 per cent.

The minimum temperature in Chakwal was recorded at 0°C, in Rawalpindi at 01°C, and in Attock at 02°C.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 05°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 79 per cent.
