On the directive of Mayor Karachi and Chairman of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC), Barrister MurtazaWahab, special arrangements are being made by KWSC to facilitate the upcoming Rabi-ul-Awal celebrations for EidMiladUnNabi.
Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KWSC, Engineer Asadullah Khan, shared that extensive efforts are underway to ensure smooth water supply and efficient sewerage management across the city, with a particular focus on the routes of mosques, majlis, and procession paths leading up to the 12th Rabi-ul-Awal. Key actions include the cleaning of overflowing sewers and the placement of ring slabs and covers over all open manholes to prevent any accidents. During a meeting with a delegation led by Syed Masroor Hashmi, President of the AhleSunnat Coordination Council of Pakistan, the delegation highlighted various water and sewerage-related issues faced by mosques and processions. They requested the KWSC address these problems as a priority ahead of the celebrations. COO Asadullah Khan assured the delegation that all concerns would be resolved promptly. He directed the relevant officers to address the issues immediately and further instructed that water tankers should be dispatched to mosques and procession routes during the celebrations. “Providing better services to citizens and worshippers remains one of our top priorities,” he emphasized.
The delegation expressed their gratitude to the KWSC for their efforts and cooperation, noting that the corporation has always played a key role in resolving issues related to water and sewerage services.
