PESHAWAR – A violent attack on a passenger van in Kurram district has left at least 38 people dead while, several other suffered injuries.
Media reports said the deadly assault occurred in the Lower Kurram area, where armed assailants opened fire on the vehicles. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a significant number of casualties as a result of the attack.
The convoy was reportedly under the protection of security forces, came under attack by gunmen in a targeted assault. Despite the security presence, the attack resulted in a high death toll. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack and working to identify those responsible.
This tragic incident adds to ongoing security challenges in the Kurram District, which has seen a history of violence due to sectarian tensions and militant activity. Local officials have vowed to increase security measures in the region to prevent further violence.
