The University of Karachi (KU) is set to initiate its online admission process for entry test-based admissions for the academic session 2025, starting October 28, 2024. This announcement was made during a meeting of the KU Admission Committee held at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat on Wednesday. Chairing the meeting, KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, along with admission committee members, was briefed by Professor Dr. Saima Akhtar, the in-charge of the Directorate of Admissions.
She provided a detailed overview of the online admission process for the morning batch. Students interested in applying for entry-test-based programs, including BS First Year, B.Ed (Hons), four-year BE programs, Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) in both morning and evening shifts, and the Department of Visual Studies, can submit their online admission forms between October 28 and November 6, 2024. Professor Dr. Saima Akhtar announced that the entry test for BS First Year, B.Ed (Hons), four-year BE programs, and Pharm-D will be conducted on November 17, 2024, while the aptitude test for Visual Studies is scheduled for November 10, 2024.
The results for the admissions will be announced on November 30 for Visual Studies and November 26 for BS First Year, B.Ed (Hons), BE, and Pharm-D programs. KU is offering a variety of entry-test-based admissions across several disciplines, including but not limited to applied chemistry, applied physics, biotechnology, business administration (BBA), chemical engineering, computer science, international relations, and fine arts, among others.
To assist prospective candidates, the university will organize open house sessions to explain the test details and admission requirements for various departments, ensuring a smooth admission process. Candidates are advised to visit KU’s official website for comprehensive details regarding the prospectus, admission forms, eligibility criteria, available programs, fees, and the step-by-step application process. All relevant admission information will be available on the portal starting October 28, 2024.
Professor Dr. Saima Akhtar informed the admission committee that online open merit admissions for BS First and Third Years in the morning program will be announced on November 18, 2024, with form submissions open until November 28, 2024. Open merit admissions for BS First and Third Years, as well as diploma and certificate courses in the evening program, will be announced on December 9, 2024, with forms due by December 18, 2024..
