Karachi Port Trust Chairman Admiral JamilAkhtar’spaid a farewell call Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Tuesday. Discussion on other important issues including operation of Karachi Port Trust, expansion of operational scope and steps taken in line with modern requirements was held. The KPT chairman gave a detailed briefing to the Governor regarding the performance of the port and the steps taken.The governor said Karachi Port Trust plays a key role in the national economy. “It is imperative to bring the port in line with the requirements of modern times. The current government is resolving port issues, difficulties and obstacles on a priority basis.” *Imran Ismail said completion of Pak-China Economic Corridor will greatly increase the importance of Karachi Port, adding Gwadar and Karachi ports are very important in national development. “As Chairman, you have taken valuable steps for the development of the port. Cohesive vision can improve the performance of organizations, the governor told the outgoing KPT chief.
