KP minister visits DHQ hospital, jail

Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Minister for Information and Public Relations, Culture, and Tourism, undertook a comprehensive review of key facilities and services during his visit to Nowshera.

The visit included an inspection of Sub Jail Nowshera, District Headquarters Hospital, and participation in a Khuli Kacheri organized by the Department of Public Health Engineering at Kakasahib. During the visit of Sub Jail Nowshera, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel assessed the conditions of different sections within the jail, interacted with both prisoners and staff.

The in-charge officer, Baitullah briefed the Minister about sub jail. He highlighted the issue of overcapacity, with 527 inmates in a facility designed for 171. To address this critical concern, the Caretaker Minister revealed that a range of solutions, including jail expansion or construction of a new facility, will be considered.—APP
