PESHAWAR –  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Communications Shakeel Ahmed Khan on Friday resigned from his position.

Shakeel Khan said that it is not possible to remain a part of the cabinet in the corrupt system.

He accused the Chief Minister of being the leader of corruption in the province and that Ali Amin Gandapur was interfering in his department. He further claimed that the Chief Minister was acting on someone else’s instructions.

He mentioned that his disagreements with the Chief Minister were based on principles.

The provincial government had retreated from its principled stance, and the Chief Minister had trampled on the principles of PTI founder Imran Khan.

He said he could no longer be a part of this corrupt system and had sent his resignation to the Chief Minister.

In response to Shakeel Khan’s resignation, Ali Amin Gandapur said that a written resignation had not yet been received.

He mentioned that a committee had recommended Shakeel Khan’s removal from the cabinet, and the summary for his de-notification had been signed and sent to the Governor.
