Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan distributed cash cheques of interest free loans among 191 small enterprise owners of District Peshawar with the purpose to resuscitate their business stating that present government is committed to promote entrepreneurship to generate employment for citizen of the province. The loans are being provided as part of public private partnership through Akhuwat Foundation under the Prime Minister’s Ihsas Program.
A ceremony regarding distribution of cheques was held at Chief Minister House Peshawar. Advisor to CM on merged Districts Ajmal Wazir, Special Assistant to CM Abdul Karim Khan, founder and Executive Director of Akhuwat Dr Amjad Saqib and Others attended the ceremony. The Chief Minister distributed cash cheques of interest free loan total worth of Rs7.5 million amongst 191 small enterprisers.
While addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, livelihood opportunities are being provided to the downtrodden segment of the society with special focus on enabling them to become job providers instead of jobseekers.
Mahmood Khan assured that the provincial government will continue to support all those who prefer hard working instead of beggary and wish to stand on their own feet indicating that the provincial government will allocate more funds in upcoming fiscal budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the purpose.
He said that incumbent provincial government has initiated multiple steps for uplift of poor segment of society through provision of technical trainings, loans and providing facilities for promoting entrepreneurship. He added that the Ihsas program, establishment of shelter homes, housing schemes and rehabilitation centers etc are evidence enough in this regard.
Mahmood Khan also assured that the program of interest free loan would also be expanded to the other districts of the province further stating that interest free loans under Industries Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would also be disbursed very soon. He hoped that beneficiaries of the program will work hard to make their businesses a success.
