Says Pakistan Observer always supported business activities

Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali has urged the media to support the government’s business-friendly and pro-investment policies to meet the current economic challenges. Pakistan is passing through difficult time and it is essential that our media, both print and electronic, should support the efforts being put together to tackle these challenges.

Ghulam Ali expressed these views during a meeting with Mr Faisal Zahid Malik, Editor-in-Chief/Chief Executive of Pakistan Observer who called on the Governor to congratulate him on assuming the office of the Governor of KP.

During the meeting, the Governor said though the government was facing tough fiscal conditions yet he was hopeful that the people would find the budget 2023-24 as pro-business and poor-friendly.

The Governor further said that the provincial government had provided relief to the masses in the prices of flour, petroleum products, pulses and other edible items even before the Budget 2023-24 is announced. The Federal and the provincial governments are actively engaged in finding solutions to the difficulties faced by the nation, he said.

In his interaction with the Pakistan Observer’s E-in-C, the Governor spoke on a number of issues ranging from the May 9 incidents of vandalism to smuggling across the Pak-Afghan border and terrorism. The Governor condemned in the strongest words desecration of the army installations which he said were the symbols of our national pride. Those who are behind such disrespectful act will not go unpunished as they not only hurt the families of the martyrs but also every patriotic Pakistani, he assured.

About terrorism, the Governor said the KP police and the security agencies had chalked out a strategy to chase and hunt the terrorists and no one would be allowed to sabotage the province’s peace.

For effective monitoring of the Pak-Afghan border, he said the steps were being taken to control and curb smuggling across the border.

About Pakistan Observer’s role and that of its Editor-in-Chief Mr Faisal Zahid Malik, Governor Ghulam Ali said he always found it supporting various initiatives of business community. On a number of occasions in the past whenever I visited Karachi as President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry, I found Mr. Faisal Zahid Malik quite active in supporting and projecting various business initiatives undertaken by the Federation.

Mr Malik is in fact doing a service to the country as it ultimately led to business activity and job creation, said Ghulam Ali adding, “This is why Pakistan Observer is the business community’s most favourite newspaper.”

KP Governor also paid rich tributes to the founding Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, late Zahid Malik (Sitara-i-Imtiaz) who always believed that Pakistan’s future is bright.

“Mr Zahid Malik always upheld the Ideology of Pakistan and believed that the country could grow only when the government gave confidence to the investors and the businessmen that their investments would be safe and that Pakistan would be an ideal market for investment,” said the KP Governor.

Zahid Malik’s rich legacy is now being carried forward by his son Faisal Zahid Malik, said Haji Ghulam Ali and wished him more courage and dedication.

Editor-in-Chief Pakistan Observer Faisal Zahid Malik on the occasion assured the Governor of his newspaper’s complete support to the industrial growth in the country and business community and investment-friendly activities.

He also invited the Governor to visit Pakistan Observer’s offices in Islamabad and Karachi.
