KP CS asks for preparation of upcoming elections

Newly appointed Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Imdadullah Bosal Wednesday directed district administrations to complete the preparation for upcoming by-elections and general elections in the province. The Chief Secretary gave these instructions while presiding over a high-level meeting here at the Civil Secretariat.

Relevant administrative secretaries, Director PMRU attended the meeting while Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners participated through video link. Law and order situation, availability of wheat flour and fertilizers, and preparations for upcoming elections was discussed at length in the meeting.

Chief Secretary Imdadullah Bosal directed deputy commissioners to keep a close check on markets and ensure availability of flour and fertilizers at notified rates. He further directed deputy commissioners to ensure readiness for elections and extend all out support to the Election Commission for conduct of peaceful and transparent elections.

The Chief Secretary directed deputy commissioners to discharge their duties with utmost honesty and impartiality and urged them to strictly comply with the code of conduct of Election Commission. To improve the law and order situation, the Chief Secretary stressed on better coordination among relevant departments and said that meetings of the district intelligence committees should be held regularly.
