KP CM launches anti-polio campaign

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood khan has formally launched the December anti polio campaign under which, 23,000 teams have been deployed to vaccinate 6.75 Million children under the age of 5 year, in an attempt to eliminate polio virus from the province.
The Chief Minister by administered polio drops to children here at the Chief Minister House, Peshawar. While addressing media persons after the launching of the campaign, Mahmood Khan stated that despite tremendous efforts and hard work, Pakistan is one of the last two countries where children are still paralysed due to polio-virus and many more are at risk of infection. This is a precarious situation at large and particularly in our province which shares 72 % of the disease burden. So far in 2019, a total of 73 cases have been reported in the Province out of which 54 cases are from Bannu division.
