KP cabinet reshuffled, further expanded


PESHAWAR Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan on Saturday affected major reshuffle in his cabinet besides also expanded the size of the cabinet, a step the government claimed was aimed at improving the efficiency of the government. The size of the KP cabinet swelled alarmingly as the chief minister has added two more ministers and eight special assistants, and advisers in the provincial cabinet. Iqbal Wazir and Shah Muhammad have been included in the provincial cabinet as Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation & Settlement and Minister for Transport respectively. Likewise Chief Minister Khan has also appointed Arif Ahmed Zai, Riaz Khan, Shafi Ullah, Zahoor Shakir Wazir Zada, Azam Swati, Ghazan Jamal and Taj Muhammad as his special assistants Under the fresh reshuffle the senior Minister KP Shahram Khan Tarakai who hitherto had been holding the portfolio of Local Government, has been made the province’s new Health Minister. The incumbent Health Minister Hasham Inamullah has been appointed in the Social Welfare Department, whereas, Minister for Communications and Works Akbar Ayub Khan has been made Education Minister. The portfolio of Advisors and Special Assistants to KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan have also been shuffled. Special Assistant on Science and Information Technology Kamran Bangash has been assigned responsibilities of Local Government Department. Likewise, Khaliq-ur-Rehman has been appointed as Advisor to Chief Minister on Higher Education. Arif Ahmadzai (Minerals Development), Shafiullah, Riaz Khan, Zahoor Shakir, Wazir Zada, Ahmad Khan Swati, Ghazan Jamal (Excise) while Taj Muhammad have been appointed as Special Assistants to Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
