A brutal fight broke out in Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday as Speaker denied opposition members to speak in local legislature.
The session was then marred by chaos as members engaged in a physical brawl. It led to a heated exchange that escalated into a violent confrontation.
Clips of the disgraced incident were also shared on national TV and are doing rounds online. PTI’s Naik Muhammad and PTI Parliamentarian Iqbal Wazir were the key members who traded punches and kicks.
In an attempt to restore order, the Speaker suspended the session for 15 minutes and summoned security personnel to the scene. Provincial ministers intervened, approaching opposition benches to defuse the situation.
The two MPs were then escorted out of the assembly, and probe is underway. The recent violent incident highlights the ongoing tensions within the KP Assembly, raising concerns about decorum and civility among elected representatives.
