The Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) faced significant unrest during the auction of charged parking spaces, leading to legal action. A case (No. 171 of 2024) has been filed against Abdullah, Shamim, and 10 to 12 unidentified individuals under various charges including sections 147, 148, 149, 186, 506 B, and 504. The auction, held at the KMC Head Office, was disrupted when Abdullah, Shamim, and others allegedly demanded that the auction proceed according to their preferences.

This disruption resulted in a confrontation where Mayor MurtazaWahab, Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, and Senior Director Faisal Baloch were also verbally abused. Accusations have emerged from the contractor mafia claiming that 14 to 15 parking sites were deliberately excluded from the auction. The plaintiff, who was present, reported that Deputy Director Muhammad Ahmed and City Warden Inspector Abdul Hafeez, among others, witnessed the incident. Further investigations are being conducted by the police to clarify the situation. Deputy Director of the Charged Parking Dept. WaseemSiraj, is overseeing the inquiry.
