LAHORE – KIPS Education System Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abid Wazir Khan returned home after two days of his alleged abduction in Lahore, Lahore police confirmed on Friday.
DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran said the alleged kidnappers released the Abid Khan after a joint operations was launched for his recovery. He added that the suspects fled after releasing him.
He said the KIPS CEO has reached his home.
The KIPS Education System is yet to issue complete details about the incident which took place on January 21.
A day earlier, a First Information Report (FIR) had been registered following a complaint filed by his brother, Tahir Wazir Khan, who is the director of finance at the KIPS corporate office, a social media user claimed in a post.
According to Tahir, Abid Khan left his office at 6:00 pm on January 1, driving his car. During his journey, he made a phone call to a staff member.
While on the call, the staffer reportedly heard a disturbance – someone knocking on the car window and shouting, “You hit my car.”
The call then abruptly dropped, and Abid Khan’s phone switched off shortly thereafter. Tahir Khan has expressed concerns that his brother may have been abducted by unknown assailants.
In his complaint, Tahir had urged the authorities to act swiftly, stressing that his brother’s life could be in imminent danger.
