kids having transplantation to be vaccinated with Pfizer

Punjab Specialized Healthcare Secretary Muhammad Aamir Jan has said that children below 18 years age group, having any organ transplantation would be vaccinated with Pfizer. “The vaccination facility to all such children will be provided in PKLI centre.”

Aamir Jan informed that the decision was taken in a meeting of Corona Expert Advisory Group held here.

The meeting was attended by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Sara Aslam, CEAG Chairman Prof Mahmood Shaukat, CMH Commandant Brig Ghulam Akbar, Mayo hospital CEO Prof Saqib Saeed, Director Punjab Healthcare Commission Dr M Anwer Janjua, Expert Corona Dr Shahid Sethi, Additional Secretaries – Dr Asif Tufail, Dr Salman Shahid and Dr Asim Altaf.

The meeting reviewed corona situation in detail. The secretary specialized Healthcare directed strict implementation of Corona SOPs and said that vaccination is the only remedy to deal with Delta virus.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Sara Aslam said that as many as 12.6 million people have been vaccinated so far and the target to vaccinate 37.2 million people would be achieved by Dec 2021.

The Specialized Healthcare secretary expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for dealing with coronavirus during Eid holidays and urged citizens to observe SOPs and be careful while offering Eidul Azha prayers.
