The all district Khyber T-20 Tatara cricket championship final match played between Khyber Stori and Eleven star cricket club at Tatara sports ground in tehsil Landikotal the other day.
Khyber Stori club playing first inning gave 224 runs target to the opponent cricket club in 20 overs with 103 high individual runs by a brilliant batsman ‘Sajid Afridi’.
Chasing the target of 224 runs, the Eleven star cricket club made only 173 runs when all their batsmen went to the pavilion.
The tournament sponsor Rashid Afridi gave one hundred thousand rupees cash to the winner team and fifty thousand rupees cash to the runner up team.
Khyber Pakhunkhwa first class cricket players were also the part of various teams in the championship. The organizers told media.
Tatara Cricket Committee office bearers Iran Khan Afridi, Shabyar Afridi and Shahid Raheem had organized the championship who thanked the tournament sponsor Rashid Afridi, the chairman of PAYMINTA.
The tournament organizers and players applauded the chairman Rashid Afridi who sponsored the tournament and encouraged the players with cash prizes, sport kits and honorary shields.
Meanwhile, talking media men, the players demanded the high ups to construct a sports complex at Landikotal subdivision.
The players said that the Landikotal had produced many first class cricket players like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Usman Shinwari but the subdivision had no sports complex and the players of Landikotal were disappointed due to the non-availability of the sports complex.
