Opposition Leader Ali Khurshidi expressed strong discontent over the absence of K-Electric’s CEO during the Special Committee on Energy meeting. “The CEO of K-Electric should have attended the meeting,” Khurshidi emphasized, voicing his frustration at the CEO’s failure to show up. Committee member Najam Mirza informed that the committee had given the CEO a ten-minute window to appear at the meeting, but he failed to do so.

This prompted criticism from several members, including Nasir Qureshi, who took the opportunity to harshly critique HESCO’s performance. Ali Khurshidi further accused K-Electric of violating the privileges of Sindh Assembly members by disregarding the committee’s summons. Following Khurshidi’s suggestion, the parliamentary committee decided to issue a formal call-up notice, giving the K-Electric CEO a final chance to attend the next meeting scheduled today. “If the CEO fails to appear at the next meeting, action will be taken for violating the assembly’s privilege,” warned Ali Khurshidi, stressing the importance of accountability.
